Pour la première fois au programme des Mardis de L-Imprimerie, des artistes de l’atelier vous présenteront leurs travaux. Noémie Doge crée des parures à partir d’objets insolitement banals, Laure Gonthier mêle corps et paysage dans ses sculptures, Sylvie Godel joue avec les mots et construit des villes en os… Elles reviennent toutes les trois de séjours artistiques aux Etats-Unis et en Chine. Elles partageront leurs impressions et leurs expériences.

a new departure
Yesterday, I cleaned up my space at L-Imprimerie. It needed to be ready for S. I leave tomorrow morning for five months. First one week in Montreal and then four months and a half in Michigan. I have no idea what to expect. I am looking forward to have this place of artist in residence in Cranbrook. I feel lucky but I really hate departure.
I am surprised -as always- to realise that I really feel home in Lausanne. I will miss a lot my atelier, my colleagues of l-imprimerie, my job of assistant in Head, my family, and most of all, my friends. Baah. It is only five months, isn’t it?
Blaise Cendrars wrote in one of his poem : Quand on aime, il faut partir…

HUT – HOT
3 weeks in Panama on hollidays. D and I stayed on different islands. One of them was Kuanidup in caribbean sea. The smallest island I have never been on: 50 by 30 meters. 42 coconut trees. 1 inhabitant during the whole year. Maximum 12 visitors.
We are back in Switzerland for 2 weeks. We prepare the next adventure. 5 months in Ann Arbor – Michigan. Visas, travel health insurances, RC insurance, impôts, international driving licences, packing stuffs, cleaning our flat in Morges etc. We couldn’t find yet an apartment to rent in Ann Arbor. In United States, I hope I will feel at home as much as when we lived in this hut.

I made my first wedding jewellery for L & P.
4 objects = 1 gold plated cup + 1 heart (2 handles) + 2 silver arrows
I enjoyed a lot making this commission.

Elles présenteront en outre leur travail d’organisatrice du B-side DownTownArtJewellery Festival à Amsterdam. B-side Festival est une manifestation qui a pour thème le bijou et l’accessoire, et qui se tient, depuis 2010, en même temps que la manifestation Sieraad. Cet événement permet à de jeunes créateurs ainsi qu’à des designers établis de présenter leurs travaux dans un contexte frais et innovateur.

min-association // 26.05 – 25.06 // Athens
Maaike Ebbinge, Iris Tsante and Noemie Doge are young European art jewelry designers that studied together in the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, in Amsterdam. On 2009 they created the group MIN Association, which they use as a platform in order to share their artistic issues, get inspiration one from each other and act together, even if they don’t always live in the same country. On 2010 they organized B-Side Festival in Amsterdam, an alternative festival for art jewelry, which had the participation of 38 artists. In Gallery “Eleni Marneri” Maaike, Iris and Noemie are going to present some of their recent works. The exposition takes place from May 26 till June 25.
