Noémie Doge was born in 1983 in Switzerland. After studying at Geneva, Amsterdam and London, she currently lives and works in the cities of La Chaux-de-Fonds and Lausanne. After working for several years in the field of applied arts, she de- veloped a body of artwork that combines drawing and sculpture.

Her works are rooted in the photographs and images she gleans from her surroundings, that she then superimposes and re- combines to create different strata and mirrors, obtaining symmetries and even kaleidoscopes. The patterns left by sea sand cross a turtle shell are juxtaposed with borage leaves that have been dried and scanned. She completely reappropriates these images by re-creating them, mimicking the work done by our visual memory as it continually combines and recom- poses our memories to shape our imaginations.

Noémie Doge (1983) s’est d’abord formée à la HEAD de Genève puis a obtenu son diplôme en 2007 à la Gerrit Rietveld Academie à Amsterdam. Elle a terminé en 2014 un master of fine arts au Royal College of Art de Londres.

Noémie Doge travaille avec des dessins de grands format autour de la question de la perception de l’environnement et de la reconstruction mentale du paysage. Ses dessins aux crayons gris sont composés à partir de tableaux anciens, de photos privées, mais aussi d’instruments optiques qui cadrent, grossissent, déforment et qu’elle aborde donc comme des visages. Elle vit entre Lausanne et la Chaux-de-Fonds.
